Good Stuff: Honors & Highlights

The road to becoming a writer is just so full of rejection, dejection and ejection. But in the mix, there's been some Good Stuff. I published my first short story, "The Cemetery," in Beyond Beehives, Poetry & Prose Commemorating Utah's First 125 years of Statehood. In 2022, I published "Opinion: Ghostwriters Afterlife," a media article reviewing that fun film. And in the fall of 2024, my flash fiction piece, "The Daily Grind," appeared in Pacific University's Boxer Shorts. I've also gotten a few awards from the League of Utah Writers: Children's Book in 2015, Flash Fiction in 2021 and Silver Typewriter in 2022. In addition, I've deeply honored to be a Washburn-Hayes Academic Scholar at Pacific University's MFA program. Pacific has one of the top-rated low-residency MFA programs in the United States.
